How long have you been traveling?
I have been long term traveling since 2008. I met my husband in 2009 and we started traveling together in 2010. We now have two kids and are on again off again travelers, with a home base in Orlando, Florida.
What does the term Worldschooling mean to you?
To us, Worldschooling means using the whole world as you classroom. Any resource, both formal and informal, is game to enrich our lives educationally.
What made you take the leap and begin Worldschooling?
I was homeschooled for most of my own education as a child. We travel for a living and continue to with children so traditional school was never an option.
What is one tip you would give an aspiring Worldschooler?
Figure out ways to allow your child the most independence possible when it comes to learning. What you really want to teach them is how to learn. Then, they can do anything.
What do you think the future of Worldschooling looks like?
The community is only going to grow. I imagine there will be quite an industry develop in meeting the academic needs of worldschoolers in the coming years, giving us even more options.
What would you tell your pre-Worldschool self?
I have always been a world schooler. 🙂
What words do you live by?
It’s not good, it’s not bad, it just happens.
